"How long does a cedar shake roof last in Minnesota?"

If it's installed right and maintained — 30 to 40 years is realistic. We've seen poorly installed ones go bad in 10. That's why installation matters more than the shingle itself.

"Is cedar shake worth it compared to architectural shingles?"

Depends what you want. Shingles are cheaper upfront. Cedar looks better, insulates better, and lasts longer if cared for. We'll tell you straight if we think shake isn't the right call for your house.

"My roof has moss. Is it ruined?"

Probably not. Moss on cedar is common in the Twin Cities — especially on north-facing slopes. We can treat it and usually save the roof. Don't let anyone talk you into a full replacement before we've taken a look.

"How fast can you come out?"

For active leaks, we try to get someone out the same day or next morning. For estimates, usually within the week. We're not going to make you wait a month to get eyes on your roof.
